When Martin attended Cooper Union art school in the early 1950s, he was often a featured illustrator for their magazine, Folio. Here is a beautiful piece in honor of Memorial Day that he did the artwork on, spring 1945. The European Theater was over by this time but the Pacific Theater operations would not be over for several more months. Around 50,000 soldiers died in this WW2, making it the largest war to date.
